Privacy Policy

HomeCircle ("we", "our", "the app") is a residential community management app that helps residents, tenants, and community admins manage communication, notices, chat, polls, reviews, and administration for their housing society or residential community. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it's stored, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

When you sign up and use HomeCircle, we collect:

• Basic profile information: your full name, phone number, and email address (if you provide one).
• Residency details: the community, tower, and flat/unit you're associated with, and your role (owner, tenant, admin, etc.).
• Verification documents: a copy of an identity or ownership/tenancy document you upload (such as a buyer allotment letter, RERA booking document, or sale agreement), used solely to confirm you're a genuine resident of the community you're joining. This is reviewed by your community's admin(s).
• Profile photo: if you choose to add one.
• Content you create: chat messages (community, tower, group, and direct messages), polls and your votes, reviews and ratings, community posts and comments, and notices you post (if you're an admin).
• Reports: if you report content, we record what you reported and why, so admins can review it.
• Device notification token: a technical identifier used to deliver push notifications to your device, if you allow notifications.
• Admin activity logs: for admins, we log moderation and administrative actions taken (e.g., approving a resident, resolving a report) for accountability and security.

We do not collect your precise location, and we do not access your contacts, camera roll, or other apps on your device beyond what you explicitly choose to upload.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Verify that you're a genuine resident before granting you access to your community's private spaces.
• Let you communicate with your community, tower, groups, and other residents.
• Operate features like polls, reviews, notices, and community posts.
• Allow community admins to manage membership, respond to reports, and keep the community's spaces safe and on-topic.
• Send you notifications you've opted into.
• Maintain security and accountability through admin activity logs.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to third parties.

3. Who Can See Your Information

• Your name, flat/tower, and profile photo (if added) are visible to other verified residents of your own community, the same way they would be in a normal residential community directory.
• Your verification document is visible only to your community's admins, solely for the purpose of approving your residency.
• Chat messages, posts, and comments are visible to the audience you sent them to (e.g., a group, a tower, the whole community, or a direct message recipient) — not to residents of other, unrelated communities.
• We do not share your personal information with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

4. Where Your Information Is Stored

Your information is stored on Supabase, a cloud database and storage provider, hosted in a data center in the Asia Pacific (Mumbai, India) region. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account remains active in your community, so the app's features (chat history, polls, reviews, etc.) continue to work correctly. If you leave a community or ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal information as described below, except where we're required to keep limited records (for example, admin audit logs) for security or accountability purposes.

6. Your Choices, and How to Delete Your Account and Data

You can:

• Update your profile information at any time within the app.
• Leave a community at any time.
• Request that your account and associated personal data be deleted.

To request account and data deletion: email us at hello@homecircle.co.in with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from the email or phone number associated with your account. We will process your request and delete your personal data within a reasonable time, except for information we're legally or reasonably required to retain (such as records needed to investigate a safety report already in progress).

7. Children's Privacy

HomeCircle is intended for adult residents managing their household's presence in a residential community. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will remove it.

8. Child Safety and CSAE/CSAM Policy

HomeCircle has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any content, activity, communication, or behavior involving the sexual exploitation or abuse of children, including grooming, sexual solicitation, sexual exploitation, trafficking, or the creation, sharing, requesting, or distribution of CSAM, is strictly prohibited on HomeCircle.

HomeCircle takes child safety concerns seriously. Users can report content or behavior that may involve child sexual abuse or exploitation through the reporting mechanisms available within the app. Reports are reviewed by the appropriate community administrators and/or HomeCircle personnel, and appropriate action may be taken, including removal of prohibited content, restriction or termination of accounts, and escalation to relevant authorities where required by applicable law.

HomeCircle will cooperate with law enforcement and relevant authorities in accordance with applicable child-safety laws and legal requirements. We may preserve and disclose relevant information when legally required or when necessary to address serious safety concerns.

If you become aware of suspected CSAE, CSAM, grooming, or other child-safety concerns involving HomeCircle, please report the matter through the in-app reporting mechanism or contact us at hello@homecircle.co.in.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as HomeCircle's features evolve. We'll update the "Last Updated" date above when we do. Continued use of HomeCircle after a change means you accept the updated policy.
